(something like this,
in a nine-square grid)
A Cricket Club, using baroque
and modernist precedents   The project explores the theme of generic/specific, transforming generic architectural elements into specific fragments that serve the program of a cricket club. The project heavily samples historical precedent of baroque churches, transforming through the process of extrusion and abstracting against the grid systems of the modernist nine-square.
The formal operation, then, becomes the exercise of carving out and occupying the poche. The formal irregularity of plan results from the baroque fragment creates faux construction grid, allowing the circulation to flow around the poche.
